Surprise Bridal Shower + Good Food = DIVA TIME

Hi dear ones,

How is Friday so far? I wonder if you are as excited as I am to rest during the weekend or do other things. This weekend, all I want to do is sit back and relax. The previous weekend was a roller coaster as I had loads of events planed up my sleeve; I really enjoyed spending time with dear friends.

Last night was an amazing night. It was one of those nights ladies need once in a while. It was a breath of fresh air for me as I celebrated with friends a surprise bridal shower for a dear friend, Deidra. Deidra is a wonderful woman with a big heart for people, especially children. She became one of my first friends here in Jinja when we arrived. To know more about her, check out her blog HERE or website HERE

Deidra (in black) surprised to see her girlfriends at the restaurant.

It was no ordinary bridal shower filled with games and other activities, we rather sat down and talked, laughed and even cried (in laughter) about experiences we have gone through in life. Deidra got showered with gifts and each gift was of sentimental value to her. Words of love and affirmation were given to her from each one of us, which was unforgettable.

With the upcoming wedding, she needed this time to be loved upon and reminded that she has got friends standing with her.

Gift time

We dined the night away at one of our favorite restaurants in Jinja town called 2-Friends. The ambience was so conducive for us as we dined the night away and our laughter faded in the cold night.

A good place to be in Jinja :) to find out more details, check out their website HERE

Good people, a.k.a = DIVAs ;)

Congratulations Deidra and Joe on your upcoming wedding may God make all your dreams come true.

On another note, what are you guys up to this weekend? feel free to leave a comment :)

Have a great weekend guys.

Current Temptation - Christian Louboutin

Hi guys!

Being a shoe fanatic, when i came across this shoe i only leaned back and said woooow! this Christian Louboutin shoe is elegant and chic. this shoe can be dressed either up or down depending on the occasion. Lately i have a weakness for nude coloured shoes so this one definitely blew me away. the shoe can also be found in black which is still equally beautiful.

(Get it here)

Have a wonderful day

Dressing it up or down..

Hi good people!

How are you today?  i hope you are better than I am. I had to drag myself out of bed today. After having an up and down, fun filled weekend in the capital city, all I want to do is sleep in.

In my earlier post I had mentioned how excited I was to travel and spend time with a friend of mine. Well I had a great time with her. We first attended a wedding on Saturday together then proceeded to her place, which is a few kilometers out of the capital city. As we drove through the city, it was hard to keep quiet as we chatted through the drive catching up on life.

It was also amazing to see the beautiful scenery that the country has to offer. The scene of hills covered with green plantation was breathtaking.

In my last post I shared with you my love for mixing the kitenge fabric with a modern look.  This is another fabric I bought and had it for a while before deciding what I wanted to do with it. This time I wanted something easy which I can choose to dress up or dress it down, hence the choice of the skirt.

after a long day, I just want to kick back and relax in my comfortable flats.

So whichever way you decide to rock your outfit, make sure you make a statement :)

This was my weekend… How did you guys spend your weekend?

Once again, thanks for stopping by for a read .....
Enjoy the rest of your week.

Modern Traditional Twist

Hello good people!

How is Friday taking you? As for me I am excited because of the coming weekend. Normally my mood just lightens up and I am super excited and looking forward to having a good rest before the hassle of the coming week.

This weekend, I am looking forward to spending time with a good friend of mine who lives in the capital city, which is two hours away from my place. I can’t wait to see her tomorrow and have some girl time catching up and just relaxing :)

Anyway, one thing I enjoy is dressing up in different styles and sometimes infuse my culture in the outfit. In reference to this outfit, I have had this fabric for a while before I decided what to make out of it. At the end of it I decided to make a simple yet stylish coat out of it (thanxs to my dear mama for making the coat). I enjoy taking a modern take on African prints hence wearing the jeans, top and stilettos.

From the print/color of the coat, I decided to add some color by wearing colored paper bead bracelets on my arm. I love these paper beads because of the colors that pop out. Since I discovered them in this country, they have become one of my must have accessories.

What are you guys up to in the weekend?

Enjoy the weekend :)

Erene.
